Anti mildew paint additives.

share

I have A LOT of paint that I want to use, so I don’t want to buy more. I want to paint my basement bathroom and was wondering if there exists an anti-mildew additive I can put in my paint?

  1. Absolutely. The EPA limits the amount of mildew inhibitor manufacturers are allowed to add. Most paint dealers sell the additive in a per gallon dose. You will be best served if you will use the "boxing" method to intermix your gallons as opposed to trying to stir them.

  2. Yes, there are several on the market. Paint-Guard Mold Prevention Additive is one that is available at Home Depot, each 3.5 oz bottle treats a gallon.
