No… but it best if you do… try to "feather-out" the brushed edges so they don't show thru the roll…
Depends on the quality of the paint and the color. Some paints are just lousy and show the brushed areas differently than the rolled areas, this is call picture framing as it looks like a frame around the wall. This can even happen with good paints sometimes. Plus dark colors can do this. It’s just best to get the job done in a timely fashion.
