Can you paint acrylic paint over oil based primer?

  1. For the most part yes. Check the label to be certain the primer is a universal type primer.

    I suspect your concern stems from "never use a latex finish over an oil paint." For finish coats this is true. Do not use a latex FINISH" over an oil "FINISH".

  2. Yes, you can paint acrylic paint over oil-based primer. However, it is important to ensure that the primer is completely dry before applying the acrylic paint to achieve the best results.
