Light colors would be your best choice to contrast the dark colors of you accessories. It doesn't necessarily have to be a white color. It can be a light khaki, or even a really light brown to match the dark brown accessories.
A shade of blue that is lighter than the countertops would bring the room together. If you would like the countertop color to stand out, you could paint the walls in a light brown or beige. Add just a few blue accessories, such as kitchen towels, canisters or bowls, for a blue and brown color scheme.
