I don’t see why not. If spray paint will stick so should a floor urethane. Choose a good finish that is made for floors and apply at least two coats.
When applying the polyurethane finish, ensure that the slate tile is completely dry and follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. It’s important to apply the finish evenly and in thin coats to prevent drips or puddles. Additionally, consider using a matte or satin finish polyurethane to maintain the natural look of the slate tile without adding too much shine.
Keep in mind that a polyurethane finish may need to be reapplied periodically to maintain its protective properties. It is also important to regularly clean and maintain the slate tile to prevent dirt and grime buildup.
It would be better to apply a clear Epoxy finish, either 1 part Epoxy or 2 part Epoxy… it will hold up better to floor traffic… make SURE the substrate is perfectly CLEAN before application, and allow about 3-5 days for curing…
