Don’t recommend mixing 2 different manufactures products. Plus adding a gloss paint to the stain defeats the purpose of the stain which is to penetrate into the surface, now it would be less likely to penetrate. If the darker stain is from the same manufacture and is the same type then you won’t have any problems, mix 2 stains together instead. Make sure you have more than enough as it might be impossible to duplicate your new color.
