  1. I recommend using a high-quality polyurethane clear coat finish. Polyurethane offers excellent durability and resistance to scratches, stains, and water damage, making it ideal for both exterior and interior wood surfaces.

When choosing a polyurethane clear coat, opt for a water-based formula for easier application and quicker drying time. Water-based polyurethane finishes are also low in VOCs, making them more environmentally friendly and safe to use indoors.

Before applying the clear coat finish, ensure that the wood surfaces are clean, dry, and free of any dust or debris. Apply the polyurethane clear coat in thin, even coats using a high-quality brush or sprayer, following the manufacturer’s instructions for drying and recoating times.

Multiple coats may be necessary to achieve the desired level of protection and sheen. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next. Once the clear coat finish has fully cured, your exterior log siding and pine tongue-and-groove walls will be beautifully enhanced and well-protected for years to come.
