How long should i wait before painting after applying a light knockdown texture to my walls? Walls have a semigloss paint on them.

We are using primer over areas that we have caulked before painting. We are painting our exterior a pretty dark color, do I need to paint the color over the primer before we spray the whole house? We don’t want streaks.

I need to use an extension ladder to paint the side of my house. Unfortunately several areas drop about eight inches over the width of the ladder rungs. Building up one side sounds kinda dangerous when going up 30 feet, any ideas on the best way to handle this?
