Painting End Table Black

share

Was a wood end table; sanded it and applied black lacquer spray paint. Wanted a shine so used a can of clear glaze. Now it has a hazy look. Will this haze dry into a shine or what do I do?

One Response

  1. Most likely the haze is a reaction of the glaze and lacquer. If it hasn't gone away by now then removing the glaze is necessary. You don't have to remove all of the black lacquer. For additional shine use a gloss clear lacquer over the black lacquer.

Make sure the products you are using are truly compatible. Example- the black lacquer might be just paint and not a true black lacquer. Applying a true lacquer coat over this might cause problems.
