To clean a airless pump housing with dried paint, follow these steps:
1. Start by removing the pump housing from the airless sprayer to work on it separately.
2. Use a putty knife or scraper to gently chip away as much of the dried paint as possible.
3. Fill a container with a solvent recommended by the paint manufacturer, such as mineral spirits or paint thinner.
4. Soak the pump housing in the solvent for several hours to help loosen the remaining dried paint.
5. Use a small brush, such as a toothbrush, to scrub away the loosened paint from all the nooks and crannies of the pump housing.
6. Rinse the pump housing thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining solvent and paint residue.
7. Allow the pump housing to air dry completely before reassembling it back onto the airless sprayer.
Regular maintenance and cleaning of your airless pump housing can help prevent the buildup of dried paint in the future. Always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for cleaning and maintenance instructions specific to your airless sprayer model.
