Exterior Paint Question

Buying a new home and the colors are just blah. It has white siding with Black shutters and a black door. Any suggestions to help bring it to life and out of the plantation era?

  1. I think an ecru trimmed with dark green or blue would be nice. If you don't like a color as light as ecru, something closer to tan would still go with a dark green or blue trim.

  2. Maybe add some color to the main house (not the shutters). Even if it was more of an off white it would look better. There are also some modern outside decorations that might help. Planting a garden with lots of colorful flowers would add some nice colors and draw attention away from the house color. White is a blank canvas.
