I want to paint or coat my exposed aggregate concrete porch and patio. What will adhere to the exposed rocks? Brand name and product would be helpful.

I have just stained my fiberglass door- so far so good. But I have read it may be best to finish it with water based finish so as no to remove any stain. Is this OK?? I used Old Masters gel stain and now need to buy the finish. Help
