White smudges on newly painted red walls.

share

We just painted our kitchen with Behr red eggshell interior paint and it looks great. We painted on newly primed drywall. Now 2 days later if we touch the wall with anything, hand or a rag, it leaves a smudgey white witness mark. Why is this? Do I need to seal the paint?
Thanks

  1. There's no such thing as "Sealing the paint"… what happened likely is the PRIMER was not applied evenly or adequately or was not a Quality Product… my suggestion would be to redo the whole thing starting with a Pigmented Shellac Sealer Primer… followed by 1 coat of Sherwin Williams Classic-99 Acrylic (satin if you choose)… Good Luck!
