Yes, regular exterior house paint can be used on stucco. You will need to prime the stucco first with an acrylic masonry primer. Make sure to pre-fill cracks with caulking or stucco patch before painting.
I recommend a satin sheen for the best performance.
Painting stucco with regular house paint is the same as painting with any coating. Make sure to fill all pores by rolling, or back rolling if using an airless sprayer.
