The only clear sealer for food contact is a clear epoxy or Tung oil. Tung oil isn't applied over paint and won't work for your needs. A clear epoxy can applied over paint and won't be easy to find. Visit your local real paint store and see if they can get this type of sealer. While there ask if there is any alternatives.
