Painting Spindles, Fillets and Handrails Prior To Painting

share

Is it good practice to paint spindles, fillets, and handrails prior to painting? A friend is replacing his stair handrails, spindles, fillets and guides. It seems a good idea to paint them prior to fitting, am I right?

  1. Yes, you are right! Always try to pre-finish an item before installation. It will save time, heartache and give your friend a better looking finish. There will be some touch-up after installation, but it is a great idea.
