Painting Jail Cells

share

I am a correctional Officer at a local jail and I’m constantly repainting the cells because inmates peel the cheap paint from the concrete block walls. I was curious to know if there is a type of masonry paint that if applied correctly, doesn’t peel off? If so, what would be the correct steps in applying? Thanks in advances!

  1. Any good paint should be fairly tough. The best is a 2-part epoxy. There are some really nice water based epoxies on the market that are easy to use.

The biggest thing is removing all of the loose paint and priming the affected areas. This will be most of the work and if not done any paint could peel. Paint is only as good as its foundation.
