Here is how I would do it (for all rooms, especially the bath)… first spackle the dings, nicks etc (do you know proper spackling technique?)… then Stain Seal all with a Pigmented Shellac Sealer Primer… then finish coat with Sherwin Williams Classic-99 (acrylic, color of choice, but use a semi-gloss finish on ALL of the surfaces mentioned)…
You need to let the bath cure for several days (really 2 weeks… that's how long it takes ALL paint to fully cure) before using a steamy shower [take baths, mean while]… and open the door and/or window a bit if you don't have an exhaust fan installed when you do shower (a good idea)… Good Luck!
