I think the palest of greens would make a nice wall color for you, or perhaps an eggshell color. You could use maroon or burgundy for any kind of trim work you have. I believe the eggshell (or perhaps ecru) would look best.
What's wrong with natural beige? If you really want some contrast you could paint one wall a dark red (perhaps maroon), leaving the other walls beige or perhaps more grey. All walls dark red/maroon might be TOO dark so a lighter red (or perhaps darker brown than neutral beige). Would be great for the upcoming holiday season at least! 😉 You could also try a different texture, like faux, instead of a different color. Good luck!
