No… you now need to REMOVE All the stain and start over… but not by sanding, by using a Furniture Refinishing Product (not a Stripper Product)…
Follow label directions on the FRP and use course grade steel wool to apply it… and wipe it off using a clean soft cloth rag…
FRP are available at most paint stores and for sure at Home Depot… Good Luck!
