Where to stop?

share

I want to paint my L-shaped living/dining room a distinct color (soft mauve), but I don’t want to run the color down the hall into the rest of the apartment. Where do I stop?

The office is pale aqua, and the 2 bedrooms are pale yellow. The doors to those rooms usually remain closed.

Should I paint the hallway a lighter version of the living room mauve? Or leave it as builder’s white? Is there another option?

  1. Stop the dining and living room color at the 2 hall edges nearest the living room. I put some arrows on your picture to show this.

I think this should work fine. I don't see any other options as one hall wall extends into the living space a little.
