Painting a Metal Door

share

Painting a metal door with oil base enamel. Its got air bubbles. How to fix?

One Response

  1. Sand out the air bubbles then re-coat. If the bubbles are light or small hand sanding will work best. Using a palm sander will work but will cause the fresh paint to gum-up on the sandpaper.

When you re-coat add some Penetrol to the paint, this will help prevent future air bubbles. (Penetrol is an oil based paint additive available almost everywhere.)
