HVLP stands for High Volume Low Pressure, it is a type of spray equipment. The advantages to the system is that there is reduced overspray and fine finishes can be achieved. There are many types of HVLP systems, some use compressors and others do not. In house painting and commercial painting, airless sprayers are used for walls, ceilings, exteriors and other large areas because they are are more productive. HVLP equipment is more likely to be used on smaller areas such as trim, doors and millwork where a finish quality and environmental considerations are more important.
