Kids Zone paint is a high gloss finish. The step you most likely missed was sanding the walls and ceiling. With any high gloss finish you plan to paint over the finish must be sanded off or bare minimum ruffed up so the new paint has pores to bind to.
Unlike oil based paints which absorb into the surface of the object you are painting, latex paints use the pores of the object to hold on to (like a rock climber uses cracks in the cliff to hold onto). Thus they fill in the pores. High gloss paint have no pores and create a totally sealed surface. This why they are so durable and are used in kids rooms, bathrooms and kitchen the most.
You can buy sanding sponges at most hardware stores, soak the sanding sponge in water long enough for the water to absorb, then ring the sanding sponge out.
The moister in the sponge reduces the amount of dust in the air, also wear a dust mask, these 2 things should help prevent your asthma for kidding up. But if you have very sensitive asthma I suggest you hirer a professional in your area since sanding does have to be done to solve this issue.
