I have been using tinted KILZ for years as a one-coat solution with good results. We want to paint a ceiling a light tan tint with a sand texture (Homax) additive and sparkling paint crystals (Valspar) if we can to create a special effect. Would the KILZ hide those sparkles,

Our redwood house has been oiled with shingle oil for 40 years and is turning black. We can rub the boards with a dry cloth and the black comes off. What can we finish it with that will not turn dark? Can this house ever be painted?
