Does anyone have a tested and viable solution for painting IKEA furniture? The pieces I want to paint have a birch veneer on them right now, and nothing I’ve tried so far sticks. Thanks!

My contractor applied a non-paintable caulk to my bull nose tile and the dry-walled wall. What product can be applied to this finished seam so I can cut in a clean edge?
