I hired an artist to paint my nursery in April. We have been airing it out for over 3 months (fans and open windows), and it still smells like paint. I am now using a HEPA air purifier, and it has not helped either. I am not using the room until I can get this solved. I do not know what kind of paint he used, but it is obviously not healthy. DO I have to paint over it with something else or can the cute painting be saved.

  1. You could seal the painting with a clear acrylic urethane. This is a water-based clear coat. It should seal the painting, reducing or eliminating the smell. And since it is clear you will still have the painting.

This can be brushed or rolled.
