Interior Doors and Trim Paint Color

share

I bought a house that is 30 years old and I’m trying to update it. The whole house has paneling and stained trim and doors. I have started in a couple of rooms covering the paneling to hide the lines, and painting them. I don’t like the look of painted paneling. I am looking into having someone come and put up sheetrock so I can paint the walls. But I’m stuck trying to figure out what to do with the doors and trim. I painted the kitchen cabinets an off white color and the walls I did in a green color, but the trim is all still the dark stain. Should I paint all the door and trim white or cream? There is no base boards, and the crown moulding is stained a different color in some of the rooms and the door is different color. It just looks weird to me. I want it to look more modern.

  1. Try removing the paneling, it just may have drywall already there. As the trim and crown being I don't know what shade of green you have. A mild yellow might work. Observe my own kitchen painting, the trim all one color of white is good.
