Last paint job was too thick.

share

I’d like to re-paint my bedroom. However, the dark red paint that is currently on the walls looks to have been applied too thick. There are a few drips here and there and it’s peeling up near the floor boards. Is sanding the walls sufficient? Or is there another way I should handle it?

One Response

  1. Scrape and patch the peeling areas and drips, retexture these areas if needed. The rest of the wall can be sanded with a pole sander and 150 grit sandpaper. Sanding thick paint on walls isn't easy but it is doable.

Unfortunately there isn't an other way to handle this situation but apply the new paint and hope for the best.
